Westport Police said that they had located an Aston Martin stolen in a carjacking brazenly committed on Sunday. They arrested a 16 year old suspect as well as a Berlin resident after discovering the vehicle and several other stolen vehicles at the man’s house.

Two masked men entered a garage in Westport, dragged the driver out of the car and took it. The police released videos showing the incident.

The police said that they had obtained a search warrant for a Berlin residence and found four stolen cars — an Aston Martin stolen during a carjacking at Westport; a BMW 530i 2021 stolen on September 16 from Westport and used to commit the carjacking; a BMW from Ridgefield, and a Porsche from Rhode Island.

The Bridgeport Auto Theft Task Force has arrested Derek McGill (39), who lives in the Berlin house where the cars were discovered. However, he is not facing charges at this time by Westport Police.

McGill was released on $250,000 bail and charged with four counts larceny in the 1st degree of motor vehicles, one conspiracy count to commit the larceny in the 1st degree of motor vehicles, one theft of payment cards, and one illegal operation in a chopshop and conspiracy.

Police executed a warrant for a home search in Waterbury on Tuesday and discovered a pistol with a long magazine.

Westport Police said that they arrested 16-year old resident of the house after finding evidence connecting him with the carjacking.

The charges against him included strangulation of the first-degree, carjacking robbery, invasion at home, burglary first-degree, criminal attempted larceny, and third-degree assault.

The police said that he was also suspect in the theft on 16th September of the BMW used to carjack the victim. He was charged for larceny in motor vehicles in first degree as well as illegally taking a credit card.

Westport detectives will request an order of detention and, if granted, the teenager will be taken to Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center in Bridgeport later today.

In a press release, Chief Foti KOSKINAS said that the Detective Bureau, in conjunction with the Bridgeport Auto-theft Task Force, was able make rapid progress on this investigation, which led to the arrest of one suspect less than 36-hours after the incident.
