After a video of a terrifying tree trimming nightmare, a Jacksonville resident was left with an enormous hole in his roofing.
A video sent to News4JAX reveals a huge tree that fell on a house with two stories in Mandarin when it was being cut down.
The contractor is heard screaming “Nooo!” in the video.
After the impact, the mom of the homeowner, who recorded the video on her cell phone, said, “Oh, my God! Right on his house.”
Darren Gardner claimed he had hired someone else to cut down his tree. But now he is left with the mess. No one was injured.
As you can see, my home is covered in tarp. Gardner explained that he had suffered multiple roof damages from the falling debris and also when a crane was called to repair the damage. I hired someone to take care of my trees. He has done between 5 and 10 different jobs for me. “I have never had an incident with him in the past.”

“Well, I think he cut it. At the time, I was in my front yard. When I looked up, everything was just falling. Gardner stated, “I just saw it fall.”
In the beginning of the video, the 40-foot tree is seen at the trunk’s edge. The contractor runs toward the tree as it begins to fall, but it’s too late.
He said, “I’ve got water damage and plumbing damage. I also have HVAC damage. Electrical damage. Framing damage. Windows damage.” Now I have to pay the bill.
News4JAX talked to Tom Stephens, President of the Better Business Bureau. He said that cutting trees doesn’t require a permit.
