A construction crane that struck the roof of an elementary school in Wayne, Michigan on Thursday left behind rubble and raised questions.
Franklin Middle School, part of Wayne-Westland School District is located on 33555 Annapolis Street near Beaumont Hospital.
According to Wayne Police Department, while lifting the items on the roof the crane “tilted into” the building.
The crane wheels are off the ground on the left as the boom is smashed up against the roof corner.
The debris scattered across the roof and grass of the building suggests that there was some damage caused, although officials claim it was only minor.
According to Eric, an area resident, the construction crew brought their equipment in around 7:30 am.
It tipped in about 45 minutes. He said, “There wasn’t a sound.” I think the object sank fairly slowly into the earth.
