Six teens were sentenced after causing “overwhelming damage” to an Isle of Wight Grade II house, which could cost up to PS300,000.
In 20 years of living on the island, the Magistrate who oversaw the sentence said that criminal damage incidents had never been so large.
Between 5 May and 6 June 2022 the teens gained entry to the home, damaged the furniture, and the structure of the inside, including the windows and doors.
Also, they damage personal belongings, fixtures, and fittings.
It is estimated that the value of the home has decreased by between PS250,000 and 300,000.
The investigation was led by PC James Carey. He said that the children had caused a large amount of property damage, and this has naturally caused the owners unimaginable anxiety.
